Contemporary Music
These are samples of my recording productions. Each will contain a description of the technique, or something interesting to listen for. I would highly recommend listening through a good pair of stereo monitor speakers, or a good set of headphones, as the quality from laptop speakers is never that good. Also - so far, this site requires flash, so using a computer rather than an iOS device may be the best way to listen. |
Recent recording from my Home studio of some musicians performing a cover of Change the World. One interesting piece is that the drums are created with Logic's new Drummer function.

This is a mix of Raond Hii, by Erick Omondi. He wants to pursue social justice and peace in his home country of Kenya, and wrote this song to talk about it. I took a recording he had done, and we rebuilt it, piece by piece, for this modern re-interpretation. I did the re-mixing, recording vocals, re-creating sounds, and post-production for this mix. Excerpts from I Will Praise You by Eunice Sim, from the Greater Boston Vineyard Album, first songs. (2007, released on iTunes)
I recorded, mixed, and co-produced the album. For this particular track, the vocals and guitar were recorded and sent by the singer to me digitally, and I recorded and mixed the rest. I alo play bass on this recording. 1st section: On this track you can hear some some examples of an interesting bass line that sets the tone for the song. 2nd section: Note the clear vocals, very light EQ and compression (having a great singer helps!). 3rd section: you can hear a trick I use to thicken the voice on the word "sing", in which I use a doubled voice track, with one slightly out of sync to provide a light chorus. |
Pitch Correction
Excerpt from Shackles (orig. by Mary Mary; this is a cover by the ENC Gospel choir), for the Rated ENC Gospel Choir CD (2006).
I recorded, mixed, and co-produced the album. The fun thing to listen to on this one it the use of pitch correction. We purposely overdid it, to make it have that robotic effect, which became so popular in recent years. |
Vocal Filter Echoes
Excerpts from Isaiah 53 by Christopher Greco, from the Greater Boston Vineyard Album, first songs. (2007)
I recorded, mixed, and co-produced the album. I also play bass on this song. In this sample you will hear some vocal echoes with a filter applied to give them a moving and distant sound. |
