Teaching MusicThese are some samples of different things I've done with my music classes over the years.
Below is a concert from CI in Korea, from their first ever high school spring concert. The oldest performers are only in 9th grade. Gonzalo Simo conducted the orchestra, and I conducted the choir. We did something I had done at alumni concerts in the US, with the orchestra behind the choir, so you can hear the vocals better. With this the coordination between conductors is crucial. |
This was my first concert at CI with various Middle school groups. The video shows samples of Band, Choir, and Strings. I worked with the bands here. (I'm the one with the ponytail!)
2021
Conducting this year's SAS Symphonic Band - Red group for the 2021 Collage. We had to split our groups into 20 winds or less, with 2m spacing. Students cannot even warm up backstage, as the other half of the band is onstage. I am glad for the opportunity to help out Jay Londgren with conducting this year and connecting with students through music, as much as we are allowed. Special thanks to Andrea Bertoncelli for creating this video. |
A Capella GroupThis is from my public school in the US. I started an auditioned a cappella group to challenge students and engage them more. This was a live performance from a recital series I started. My tech students worked with me to film, record, and mix the audio back to the video.
Class practiceStudents practicing through the class change.

Jazz GroupThis was another auditioned group at the public high school. They started checking out jazz songs on YouTube and we decided to do Cantaloupe Island our own way.
Student InterviewsTalking to two seniors about what they learned in my music classes.

Tech ClassesI created a Music Tech Class and curriculum that would show students how to record and edit music with a DAW. In this class, they also got to make and record their own songs.
