Faculty Jazz Group: Bibimbop

These are some samples of the CI faculty jazz group in Korea, Bibimbop. We played regular shows, and have a great mix of musicians. Lorenzo on piano (who also writes the the original songs), Paula on trumpet, and Nick on drums. I play bass, and recorded the songs. I produced the recordings with Lorenzo. These samples are still works in progress, which I will master at a later time.
This is a section from Footprints, a Wayne Shorter tune that we are covering. We tend to specialize in Latin jazz, so you will hear that influence.
Next is a section of one of Lorenzo's originals - Non ho fatto 13, a soothing ballad featuring some excellent trumpet work by Paula.
Next is a section from Frijolito, another of Lorenzo's compositions, which features piano and an intense Latin groove.

 Live Concert Videos

​These are live recordings of me playing bass along with three of my Jazz high school students. We multitracked the concert on my ADAT digital recorder, then I re-mixed it and did all the post-production, then replaced the video sound with the new audio.

One is Herbie Hancock's Chameleon, the other is Chick Corea's Spain.
